I can’t believe it! All is quiet in the Newport house and my eyes are actually open. I love that everyone else is getting ready for back to school though. Things in the teachers pay teachers department have been picking up a little and what I like best about that is all of the customizations I am getting to create. Squeezing in little bits here
It’s good to be back!
I have THE MOST exciting news ever!! My baby girl is here! Averie Lauren Newport made a surprise appearance (4 weeks earlier than expected)! She was born June 24th at 6:27 in the evening. What a blessing she is! Even though she was very early she was healthy as can be and cute-cute-cute… we just love her so much! These are some of my favorites!
Baby on the brain!
Hellooooo out there…. anyone?? anyone at all?? I kid, I kid. I know you’re all still out there. It’s me that I am not sure about. Summer has officially arrived and I am sure everyone is just as excited as I am. Boy, it is beyond nice to just go with the flow, march to the beat of our own drum and do whatever the
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!!
Well how the heck have you all been!!?? For Pete’s sake I have not been blogging in FOR-EV-ER!! I don’t really have an excuse I am just lazy as ever. I think offering freebies is always always always a super awesome reason to blog though. I appreciate all of you SO much! I mean like whole tons of bunches! My 3rd grade team and I
I HEART you!
I think I came off just a teensy bit grumpy yesterday… I have to say I am loving being pregnant and do feel incredibly blessed (INCREDIBLY) to be gifted with another little miracle in my life. Being the only prego in my little circle of friends I think sometimes I jump at the opportunity to vent aka whine (waaa waaaa waaaa) and I need to

Linking up with Farley here… I just love her. She makes me chuckle at just the right time. The Big Game is finallllly over. I think I would like sports a lot more however, my husband is ALL sorts of serious and makes it a tad bit un-fun. When it comes to football and basketball there is hardly a game we watch that does not
Native Americans of the Northwest
I feel like I am always posting about art projects, but these days it is the only time I am free to snap some pictures! We have been studying Native Americans of the Northwest. To represent the tribes of the Coast we made totem poles and for Inland Valley we made woven mats (my favorite project I have done all year BTW). Each of us
Sunday FUNday… Math Technology
Happy Sunday and Martin Luther King Day! Over the weekend my principal ask me to lead a portion of our upcoming Curriculum and Instruction day. These are those teach inservice days we have been given in place of our prep-time this year. I was asked to talk with our staff about IXL and how I use it in my classroom. If you have not heard

It’s the most wonderful time of the (school) year!
I think I will start this with a random thought.. I am feeling just a tad bit random as per usual. You know that “Mama” commercial for the movie with the spooky girls? I am sure you do because I feel like it is on every 5 seconds. This is why I cover my ears and close my eyes whenever I watch T.V. or for
